Turtle Clan is an ode to the matrilineal Turtle Clan of the Haudenosaunee. This painting uses three identical images to highlight different aspects of the painting. A large sunbathing snapping turtle rests on a log bordered by a diamond-shaped frame decorated with traditional Haudenosaunee patterns with pops or neon green. The blue background with purple designs creates a secondary framing effect for the animal.
