Hawk Clan is an ode to the matrilineal Hawk Clan of the Haudenosaunee. This painting uses three identical images to highlight different aspects of the painting. A brown hawk is perched on a wooden post within a diamond-shaped frame decorated with traditional Haudenosaunee patterns. The blue background with purple designs creates a secondary framing effect for the hawk.
