Heron Clan is an ode to the matrilineal Heron Clan of the Haudenosaunee. This painting uses three identical images to highlight different aspects of the painting. A white heron stands in green vegetation within a diamond-shaped frame decorated with traditional Haudenosaunee patterns. The blue background with purple designs creates a secondary framing effect for the bird.
